Worthy Brother Knights:
The Lord withholds no good thing from those who walk without reproach. Congratulations Brothers Scott Kleinhesselink, and Ernie McAbee who completed their "Knighthood Degree" on Saturday, January 16, 2016, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish. Welcome Brothers and Congratulations! Thank you Pam and Jerry Kay for hosting the Epiphany Party. It was a fun and delightful evening with family, great food, fellowship and fun. Brother Dr. Ed Reidy, his family, and his "Tecate Road Warriors" did it again. Another successful and enriching trip to the Nazareth Orphanage in Tecate, Mexico with food and gifts for the orphans and religious. They continue to clothe and feed the hungry. The Parish Ministry Faire was held on Sunday, January 17th. We displayed our new red K of C tablecloth and recruited two new candidates. Thank you to all brothers who assisted at our table and special thanks to Brothers Leo McGarry, John Martin and Bobby Schaefer who participated in the procession into mass. This Saturday, January 23rd is the "Walk for Life" at Balboa Park. If you and your family are available, please join us at 9:00 AM in the park. January has a 5th Sunday, January 31st. So please join us with your family in praying the 5th Sunday Rosary for Peace to our Blessed Mother following the 8:00 am mass. Saturday, February 6th is our Annual Sweetheart Dinner & Dance in Prendergast Hall Your donation supports our three charities, Garden of Innocence, Rachael's Hope, and our Parish. Plan on attending for delicious food, great prizes, dancing & fellowship. Ticket sales end on Jan. 31st-so hurry and get yours today. Tickets are available at the kiosk after masses, through K of C members and on our website using a credit/debit card and our PayPal service. As always, please remember to wear your Knights of Columbus "name plate" to mass. Do you know a Catholic Gentleman that is 18 years or older? Enrich his life and give him a membership in the Knights. Every Knight is a recruiter. Let's all continue to work together in the spirit of Fr. Michael J. McGivney with Charity, Unity, and Fraternit If you have not been to a meeting in a while, plan on attending this Thursday and reacquaint yourself with your brothers and what is currently being planned in your council.
