Worthy Brothers all!
Lent is here, and so are the delicious Valle de Oro Fish Dinners. Week 1, Brother Sam Caeti and crew featured a fabulous grilled halibut dinner. Week 2, Brother Paul Marquie and crew served a great fish and chips meal. If you haven't had a chance to try one of these dinners, be sure to stop by Friday night. This week, Brother Paul Melcher will be cooking up a fantastic salmon dinner. This year has presented a special challenge for our council with using the De Moor Room for serving. But the Knights have risen to the challenge, and with the help of many including the Santa Sophia Youth Group the dinners have so far been a huge success. The fish dinners are scheduled from 5 PM until 6:45 PM, which provides an opportunity to attend one of the Stations of the Cross liturgies. The Stations of the Cross are held at 4:30 PM and again at 7:00 PM. Please try to attend. On Sunday, February 23 a joint Open House was held in the CMO courtyard with the Catholic Daughters of Santa Sophia. The weather was beautiful and some delicious food was served. Both the Catholic Daughters and the Knights of Columbus have several potential new candidates. The Free Throw competition State Championship will be held in Chatsworth at Rancho San Antonio, 21000 Plummer Street, Chatsworth, CA 91311 - 9:00 AM.
