Worthy Brother Knights:
An Old Gaelic Blessing - May the roads rise with you, And the wind be always at your back, And may the Lord hold you in the hollow of his hand. My little Irish mother had this saying hanging in her kitchen for as long as I can remember. Upon her passing I inherited the little sign and it now hangs in my kitchen. Happy St Patrick's Day! Our next meeting is on March 17th(tomorrow). Show up and test your luck of the Irish for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to Hooley's Irish Pub!! At this meeting, Field Agent Mike O'Hara (that good old Irishman) will be present to discuss benefits of Knights of Columbus Insurance. Don't miss this information! Our five Lenten Fish Dinners ended this past Friday. Thank You Brothers all who donated your talents and time to making this year's dinners a Great Success. Special thanks to Chefs: Sam Caeti, Vince Garra, Jim Maasch, Paul Michael, Romeo Marcelo, Paul Melcher and Greg Villard. Compliments from all our guests. Please be sure to support the CDA, Fish Taco dinner and the St Vincent de Paul, on Good Friday-Soup Night. If you haven't heard- the 1st, 2nd & 3rd Degrees now have new names: 1st Degree is now the Admissions"Degree; 2nd Degree is now the "Formation" Degree; and 3rd Degree is now the "Knighthood" Degree. Congratulations to our new brothers, Kevin Connolly who completed his Formation Degree on March 8th and Jesse Luzadas who completed his Admissions Degree on March 9th. As Easter nears, please keep in mind that our Pastor will ask the Knights to assist with Traffic Control and Parking for the 8:00 and 11:00 masses. If you are available and have 30 minutes to spare prior to either mass on Easter Sunday, March 27th, please assist us with Traffic and Parking. As always, please remember to wear your Knights of Columbus "name plate" to mass. Do you know a Catholic Gentleman that is 18 years or older? Enrich his life and give him a membership in the Knights. Every Knight is a recruiter. Let's all continue to work together in the spirit of Fr. Michael J. McGivney with Charity, Unity, and Fraternity! If you have not been to a meeting in a while, plan on attending this Thursday and reacquaint yourself with your brothers and what is currently being planned in your council. I hope to see you this week. Vivat Jesus! Patrick Esquibel, Grand Knight |
