Grand Knight's Report May 2014- WGK Ed Dondero

Worthy Brothers all!    
     Elections are coming! Council elections are tonight. Please try to attend the meeting and cast your ballot. Elections will also be taking place at the California State Convention this weekend, May 16, 17 in Santa Clara. Council 9332 will be represented by Ed Dondero, GK and Ed Reidy, DGK. The San Diego Diocese Chapter elections will take place next month at the next chapter meeting. The current Columbian Year is drawing to a close in a busy fashion. The Valle de Oro Scholarship Committee has been busy processing the scholarship applications and should be ready to announce the winner soon. The Beer Tasting Event Committee has been drawing up plans to host this event on July 12th. And the membership committee has been putting together plans to hold an Extended Membership Drive in the coming weekends. The Knights of Columbus are hosting an Evening With Father John Bosco event on May 14th. Father Bosco has done a lot of missionary work in the African countries of Uganda and Rwanda and will be sharing his stories with the parish. 
     Valle de Oro Council was represented at the May 3rd Fourth Degree Exemplification held at the Town and Country Hotel. Not only did Brother Andre Cleveland become a Fourth Degree Knight, but SK Jerry Kay took part in the Color Corps Competition with the Balboa Assembly. Balboa Assembly achieved 2nd place and will be participating in the Color Competition in Santa Clara on Thursday. Both SK Vince Garra and SK Jerry Kay will compete. 
     Council 9332 will hold an Extended Membership Drive for three weekends. Look for the big Knights of Columbus canopy in the parking lot. Please stop by after whatever Mass you and your family attend. Bring your wife, girl friend, and children. Let's show the parish families that the Knights are a family organization. Ask someone to find out what the Knights of Columbus are about. For 15 minutes after Mass on each of the 3 weekends, another Catholic man may become a new Knight. You could make the difference in someone's life.
