Worthy Brothers All,
Please keep our Worthy Treasurer Greg Villard and his family in your thoughts and prayers during this most difficult time. We mourn the untimely loss of our Brother Knight Paul Villard and pray that he find eternal rest with our Lord, Jesus Christ. Thanks to SK Vince Garra for attending the funeral of SK Najib Konja at Saint Peter’s Chaldean Church on April 29. Brother Konja was a generous benefactor to the church and our community. Our Catholic High School Scholarship committee met May 13 and selected an outstanding winner. The name of the student who won the $1000 prize will be announced next month. Thanks to our selection committee director Randy Klotz and committee members, Leo McGarry, Greg Villard, Vince Garra, and Ed Reidy. Our council was blest to be recognized with several awards at the 113th Annual Knights of Columbus California State convention last week. Those awards include: Church Activities second place, Vocation activities second place, Community Activities second place, Young Adult Activities second place, Family Activities third place, Culture of Life Activities fourth place, Youth Activities fourth place, Council Activities fifth place. In addition the Council was awarded first place for the Best Individual Young Adult event, the J.P. Schultz Be Not Afraid Award for creating new service activities to support church and community, and our own Brother Paul Melcher Family was selected California State Family of the Year. Congratulations Brothers and bless you for all your hard work in service to our Church and greater community. Vivat Jesus! It is never too late to think about membership. Remember we are looking for good men who want to become better. Men who want to become better Catholic gentlemen, better husbands, and better fathers through service to all in Christ’s name.
