Grand Knight's Report for May 2018 by GK Shawn Reidy

Greetings once again Worthy Brothers!
Our Columbian year is quickly coming to an end and we have had quite a year! I want to thank you all for trusting me to be your Grand Knight this year and supporting me during this year with great success!
As you know by now, DGK Leo McGarry and I returned this past Sunday from the California State Convention held in Sacramento this year. We are both proud to report that our Council did VERY  well in garnishing many Service Awards:
FOUR - 1st Place awards                  

• Church
• Council
• Culture of Life
• Youth

Two- 2nd Place awards

• Family
• Vocations

​One- 3rd Place award- Community

We ALL should be proud to have done such a good job to win such awards. It's due to a lot of hard work by so many of you that I can spare you the pain of listing all of them :-D (haha)
I would like to thank the Service Award committee: Leo McGarry, Jerry Kay, Greg Villard, Gary Glenn, and Pat Esquibel.
Brothers, thanks for helping Leo and me to organize and coordinate the abundance of reports, photos and written materials and get them in a logical order and coherence. Clearly, this was a important factor in why the State judges selected our Council for all the awards. Vivat Jesus! 

This past month of May, our Council was asked to manage an additional month of serving coffee & donuts. Thanks to all of you who helped out so far-especially while Leo and I were away in Sacramento. Don't forget-we have one more Sunday to serve THIS Sunday, May 27th.
Next month, we will have a few more events such as the Light and Life Dinner on Saturday, June 9th. I will ask a few of you worthy knights to help out in the kitchen and serving the guests tables. We have  already budgeted for a table of eight. 
We are honored that we were asked to host this worthy event for a Culture of Life and let our Council shine.
On Sunday, June 3rd, besides being our Family Mass  Sunday, Br. Ismael Negrete has volunteered to head a crew of other brothers and cook a Pancake Breakfast along with serving coffee & donuts. [The Women's Guild was more than happy to relinquish one Sunday.]
Three more dates to put on your calendar:
1. Thursday, June 7th- the last Officers meeting for the year.
2. Thursday, June 21st- the LAST business meeting for the year
3. Sunday, June 24th- Installation of Officers and Luncheon in the DeMoor Room 1-3 pm
Again, thanks for all your support to me during the past year.
