Grand Knights Report for September 2017-GK Shawn Reidy

Greetings Worthy Brothers!
We have completed another month and we should be looking forward to the number of events increasing as we approach the holiday seasons of Halloween, Veteran's day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Last month, we started with our monthly Catholic movie night-showing a documentary about St. Pope John Paul II. It was truly inspiring. 
In September- the annual Rosary/Pizza Party at Sam & Rosa Caeti's home.
Everyone had a great time, despite the rain.
Next, on Sunday, September 10th,  Br. Jerry Kay assembled a great crew of new members to put on a terrific "Pancake Breakfast".  It was great to see our new brothers working together in true fraternal unity.
We have some other important events coming soon:

1. Wine Tasting-this Saturday,September 23rd- get your tickets NOW!
2. Our 1st Trip to Tecate-Saturday, September 30th. Contact me if you'd like to join us. It's a lot of fun and feels good to help!
3. 1 st Sunday of the Month Knights Family Mass-Sunday, October 1st at 11 am. Be sure to wear your name tag or plate and wear your Knights shirt.
4. Catholic Movie Night-Featuring the documentary film- "Fatima" narrated by Ricardo Monteban. Recounting the miracle at Fatima. Friday, Oct. 20th at 7 pm in the DeMoor Rm. Admission is FREE! Popcorn and refreshments will be served.
5. ID Drive-October 20-22nd (Friday through Sunday) see DGK Leo for assignments at the two stores and Santa Sophia church. Another opportunity to help those in our community with developmental disabilities.
6. 5th Sunday Rosary- Sunday, October 29th after the  8 am mass. We need to pray for peace, now more than ever.

So Brother Knights, we've got work to do. I hope that all of you can find the time and  take the opportunities that lay ahead to show our parish and community that we our an organization of brothers dedicated to service. "In Service to One. In Service to All."
If you haven't been to a meeting in a while, please try to do so.
Or bring a fellow Knight with you. These meetings are a way to voice your support for a favorite project or cause or to vote on proposals placed during the meeting.
