Worthy Brothers All:
Have you seen the Santa Sophia Mission Statement? It has been on the front of the Parish Bulletin for the past month. Please read and reflect on how it relates to you, and to us, the Knights of Columbus: "Santa Sophia Catholic Parish is a welcoming, caring, and vibrant community of believers seeking to grow in faith, fostering a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Challenged by the Word of God, nourished by the Eucharist, and empowered by the Holy Spirit we seek to build bridges to convey God's love to our community." Please take time to welcome our two new brothers, Cesar Rodriguez, who completed his 2nd Degree on Nov. 9th and Marco Mendoza who completed his 3rd Degree, Nov. 15th. Welcome Brothers and Congratulations! Congratulations to our Tecate Outreach Crew on another successful outing. Dr. Ed and Liz Reidy, Shawn Reidy, Jim and Rose Maasch, Jack Crutchfield, and Ed Padillo, prepared the meal and fed 115 people at the Nazareth Orphanage. Special thanks to Jerry Kay and Paul Melcher and the VBS for their generous donation of food and transportation. Another Job Well Done! The Soccer Challenge State Champion for the South Regional Boys-11 Year Old, Council 9332 District 148- San Diego Diocese, is our very own Steven Coons - Score 245. Congratulations Steven, Outstanding Job! Advent Workshop -The New Evangelization and Missionary Discipleship will be presented by Bishop Brom on Saturday, December 5, 2015, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm in Santa Sophia Church. Please join us if you are able. See the flyer for more information. Next week is Thanksgiving, Enjoy the day with your family and friends, and have a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving. As always, please remember to wear your Knights of Columbus "name plate" to mass. Do you know a Catholic Gentleman that is 18 years or older? Enrich his life and give him the gift of membership in the Knights. Let's all continue to work together in the spirit of Fr. Michael J. McGivney with Charity, Unity, and Fraternity! If you have not been to a meeting in a while, plan on attending this Thursday and reacquaint yourself with your brothers and what is currently being planned in your council. I hope to see you this week. Vivat Jesus! Patrick Esquibel Comments are closed.
