Grand Knight's Message for October 2015 by Pat Esquibel

Worthy Brothers All:
         For the Christian community the family is far more than a theme: family is life, family is the daily fabric of life, and family is the journey of generations who pass on the faith together with love and with the basic moral values.
    Congratulations to our new 3rd Degree Knights. Brothers Jason Reidy and Romeo Marcelo who obtained their 3rd Degree on Saturday, October 10, 2015.
     Congratulations to Mr. Dennis Regan who was this year's football ticket winner to the Monday Night, San Diego Charger/Pittsburgh Steeler Football Game.
 
    October is another very busy month. October 16, 17 & 18 is our annual Intellectual Disability Drive. This year we have two new venues to pass out tootsie rolls and solicit donations. The Grocery Outlet near the church and the Grossmont Mall by the food court.
We also need your help after all masses. Please contact DGK Greg Villard to volunteer and let him know your availability.  
Also this month is our 6th Annual Wine Tasting Gala on Saturday, October 24, 2015, in Prendergast Hall. Please plan on purchasing a ticket to enjoy fine wines, outstanding gourmet appetizers and hors d'oeuvres, and interesting conversation. Many of our past priests will be guest servers for this event.
          October 25th is Priest Appreciation Sunday. Let our priests know you appreciate them. A simple "Thank You" after mass and your prayers for our priests go a long way to serve the greater good of our wonderful and growing Catholic Church.
Next month it is our turn to serve donuts and coffee following the 8:00 and 11:00 masses. Please stop by after mass and help us serve the parishioners donuts and coffee.
    As always, attend mass regularly, pray the rosary often, and please remember to wear your Knights of Columbus "name plate" to mass.
Let's all continue to work together in the spirit of Fr. Michael J. McGivney with Charity, Unity, and Fraternity!
     If you have not been to a meeting in a while, plan on attending this Thursday and reacquaint yourself with your brothers and what is currently being planned in your council. I hope to see you this week.
