Worthy Brothers All:
God is not solitary. He is a communion of persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. And we know that we are created in the image and likeness of God. This means we are called to build a communion of persons ourselves.
On Saturday, August 29th was Fr. Devdas' installation with Bishop McElroy and the Summer Night Event Barbecue. You are truly a "Band of Brothers"! I received many complements from parishioners, ministry heads and Pastor. Thank you Brother Knights for assisting with parking and traffic control, ushering, colorguard, setting up, manning booths and displays, and take down of all the tables, chairs and displays.
A big Thank You to Sam and Rosa Caeti for hosting another wonderful Rosary to our Blessed Virgin Mother and Pizza Party. Everyone participated in reciting the Glorious Mysteries of the Rosary followed by great homemade pizza and refreshments. Thank you Sam and Rosa.
August is gone and September's activities are upon us. Tuesday, September 15, 2015, is the "Red Wine and Dark Chocolate" seminar.
Saturday, September 19th and Sunday, September 20th , is our annual membership drive. Please assist by speaking with a Catholic Gentleman about the Knights after your favorite mass this weekend.
Also, on Saturday, September 19th, is the Outreach for Nazareth Orphanage in Tecate, Mexico trip. If you are interested in participating and traveling to Tecate, Mexico, please contact Dr. Ed Reidy (email@example.com) or Shawn Reidy (firstname.lastname@example.org) for more information. Be sure to have a current /valid passport!
As always, please remember to wear your Knights of Columbus "name plate" to mass. Especially this weekend for our Annual Membership Drive. Do you know a Catholic Gentleman that is 18 years or older? Enrich his life and give him the gift of membership in the Knights. Let's all continue to work together in the spirit of Fr. Michael J. McGivney with Charity, Unity, and Fraternity!
If you have not been to a meeting in a while, plan on attending this Thursday and reacquaint yourself with your brothers and what is currently being planned in your council. I hope to see you this week.
Dr. Ed Reidy. DDS
