Grand Knight's Report July 2014- WGK Ed Reidy

• Brother Knights, 
  
• we serve to make a difference in our Parish and greater community. We know that today, more than ever, there is a great deal of information, but very little wisdom. We cannot allow our Catholic values to become lost in the background noise of contemporary society.
• On behalf of the entire Council I want to thank our immediate past Grand Knight Ed Dondero. During these past 12 months our Parish faced its greatest challenge. Many of our planned events had to be changed or cancelled. Events called for flexible, adaptive leadership and Ed was great at it. Our Council was recognized with an unprecedented number of awards at State level. Thanks Ed and P.J.
• Thanks to Brother Paul Melcher and all of the volunteers that made Pasta Palooza a great successSat. Night June 28. It was a delicious and the event raised funds for our High school scholarship winners. Sunday, June 29th we held our Installation and awards ceremony.
•  Our Worthy District Deputy Tony Villamanconducted the Installation Ceremony and charitable awards in the amount of $500 each were presented to Rachel's Hope, Garden of Innocence, Parish Outreach, and the Parish building fund.   
• Brs. Leo McGarry, Ed Dondero, Jerry Kay and myselfhad a great time marching with the Chapter in the Fourth of July Parade on Coronado Island. The Chapter Color Corps along with our State Deputy and Chapter President received a warm welcome from the crowd.
• Don't forget to support our First Annual Craft Beer Tasting event starting at 6:30 on Sat. July 12th at the CMO courtyard. We need help with setup and cleanup so if you can help

• Saturday July 19th at Prendergast Hall, the San Diego Chapter will hold a Leadership Retreat from 9 AM(Morning Fellowship) followed by the Retreat from 10am-2pm. Lunch will be provided.
