OLOG July 2025 Newsletter reminder

I also wanted to send along a couple of reminders and points I want to highlight:

-Our next get together and meeting is August 8, 6:30pm. We are having a Mass, a Lasagna dinner and all the accompaniments, and our business meeting. Please consider attending (especially if you are interested in getting involved in the honor guard). Wives and kids also welcome.

-There is a special rosary and Mass being held at Guardian Angels Parish on August 14 at 6pm to honor our founder, Blessed Michael McGivney. We will have an honor guard in attendance, so anyone with regalia please consider coming. But all SKs and their families are also invited, and it would be great to have a strong showing for this new and important event being held at one of our local parishes with an associated council.

-I wanted to remind everyone that if there is a patriotic service committee (see the end of the newsletter) you are interested in, please get involved. "Committee" denotes a group working towards a goal, rather than a single individual.

Also ideal is rising from your seat to address the chair, rendering the KoC salute, and directing comments ONLY to the chair when you are recognized. Please refrain from discussing topics outside the current report/motion, or addressing comments to other members of the Assembly. The goal is to keep things orderly and moving along (and being efficient with time).

-Finally, here is an important message from our WFC Nick:

"I want to reinforce the importance of unity within the order and with the church.  Working together, Knights can achieve more as a team than they could ever do alone.  Having stated such, I am respectfully requesting a group of Knights/Ladies that can meet with me and my Wife monthly or bi-monthly if required to assist in planning our monthly dinner/ themed dinner events.

As your Captain, I will proudly serve as the Chairman of our newly created Assembly Events Committee and if you would like to meet at my home we most certainly can or we can meet via Zoom if the majority prefer the latter.

Additionally, if you have any holiday decorations you do not need and would like to donate to Assembly 2449, I could store them if you like and we can use them for our themed Holiday dinners.
