Council Meeting measures during the new Covid Delta/Omicron  Variant surge
Worthy Brothers,

In an effort to support our continued ability to conduct in-person meetings, we will have complementary digital thermometer checks at the entrance of the DeMoor Room to ensure that we are taking precautions as recommended the CDC and California‘s Department of Health to reduce the spread of the Delta variant of COVID-19.

Additionally, Bishop McElroy and the Catholic Diocese of San Diego and Fr. Devdas are encouraging all parishioners to wear a mask while indoors (even those fully vaccinated - as an act of charity). This is not mandatory but offered out of respect and in support of our brothers and their family members who may be immunocompromised.

We will keep doors open and space chairs at least 3 ft apart during our future meetings as mitigating measures. If you are symptomatic, please stay home and rest. We will attempt to have a Zoom link available (depending on wifi reliability) and conduct a hybrid meeting to support those not able to attend, but I would rather risk not meeting a quorum than risking someone’s health!

Thank you for your understanding on this matter and I look forward to seeing you all at the general business meeting August 19, 2021@7:00 pm.

Vivat Jesus!

Council Dues Policy Update; Attention all members
Worthy Brothers,

As a nonprofit charitable organization, the primary means of funding our operations are through the payment of annual dues. In a time of uncertainty on our ability to raise funds due to lingering COVID mitigation’s, honoring your commitment and paying your dues is more critical today more than it has ever been.

In accordance with council by-laws, members who are not current on their dues DO NOT have the right to attend council meetings OR vote on council issues.
This has been the standard for years but has been loosely enforced. It is time to honor our commitment to the council and regain good standing by paying any outstanding balances.
Enforcement of this policy is effective immediately.

If you have had a financial hardship or illness that prevented you from having the ability to pay dues, please provide a short statement and justification to our Worthy Financial Secretary Gary Glenn for potential debt forgiveness, if qualified.
FS Gary Glenn/s email address is garyg@gaent.com
*Non -current members will not be able to attend our upcoming business meeting. Members shall have membership cards with them at all future meetings.

Thank you for all that you do for the council and the community!
Let’s get back on track and continue to make a difference!

Vivat Jesus!

Grand Knight
Policy on Council memebrship card
Worthy Brothers,

A reminder to our council members to bring a current membership card to the business meeting for entry to the meeting.
If you cannot find your membership card or forget to bring it to the meeting, FS Gary Glann will have an up-to-date membership list to verify your paid and current  membership.

Please be sure to come so you can help share the burden of in taking leadership in council fundraisers, planning events, being on committees to make our council grow in numbers, faith and strength.

Several fundraisers and events are in the works and need  Brother Knights to step up and take charge and assist. Hope to see some Brother Knights step up and partner with others to grow as a leader and develop new skills.

Practical Catholic Guidelines

Guidelines have been established to assist in determining the practical Catholicity of an applicant or member. These guidelines will assist the grand knight in performing his duties when serving on the council’s admission committee.
These guidelines include:
  • A practical Catholic accepts the teaching authority of the Catholic Church on matters of faith and morals, aspires to live in accordance with the precepts of the Catholic Church, and is in good standing with the Catholic Church.
  •  A practical Catholic strives to have a greater knowledge of the teaching of Christ and his Church, and to accept, respect and defend the Church’s authority (vested in the Supreme Pontiff, the hierarchy and clergy united with him) to teach, govern and sanctify the faithful.
  •  A practical Catholic gives material and moral support to the Church and her works on all levels, promoting the programs of the parish and diocese and coming to the aid of the missions, the needy and the underprivileged; supports and advances the just causes of minority groups; endeavors to eliminate unjust discrimination, prejudice, etc.; and supports the Church in her defense of marriage and family life.
  • If questions regarding the practical Catholicity of an applicant or member arise, the pastor of the applicant or member should be consulted before any action i
